Perak MB: Don't resort to violating law in retaliation against others

IPOH: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has reminded all quarters against taking revenge and resort to actions or that are against the law.

He made such a call following the arson attack on the home of Beruas member of parliament Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham di Ayer Tawar, Manjung, this morning.

Saarani, who is also state security committee chairman, said he hoped that there would not be further issues or retaliation by any parties as it could disturb public order and cause unrest.

"If the incident (was done in retaliation against Ngeh) it could cause an unsafe situation in our state.

"I advise all to always remind ourselves against doing anything that is against humanity or the law.

"We don't know the (real) issue since the case is still being investigated by the police," he told reporters after attending the Executive Talk Programme and New Year's address with Perak civil servants here today.

It was reported that the house and three vehicles belonging to Ngeh caught fire, believed to be the result of a Molotov cocktail, early this morning.

Ngeh in a Facebook post said the fire was successfully contained, with no casualties reported.
