Penang Mufti: 'Take action against podcast organiser for inviting Hot Daddy'

GEORGETOWN: Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noor has expressed dismay over the action of a streaming website that invited 'Hot Daddy' as a podcast guest.

He said it was truly disappointing and can be considered a way of promoting and normalising promiscuity.

"If this situation is not restrained or prevented, it is feared that it will influence teenagers and lead them towards (the path of) moral decay," he said when contacted today.

Wan said this in response over a streaming website's action in organising a talk with Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, 32, who is allegedly facing court charges for advertising sexual services on X.

The invitation to Hasli, known as Hot Daddy, as a podcast guest has garnered various reactions from netizens, with some considering it as a promotion of adulterous behaviour.

Wan Salim also said the government should take the incident seriously and take stern action against those promoting such immorality as it can damage the moral values of society.

"In this regard, we urge the authorities to take immediate action to charge the organisers of the podcast according to the existing laws.

"Hopefully, this serves as a lesson to all parties and as a step to prevent the normalisation of sinful actions in the country," he said.
