Netizens commend IGP's impromptu checks on police facilities

KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens have commended the recent impromptu visits conducted by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain to several police facilities.

This comes after Razarudin conducted a surprise check at the Nilai police headquarters command centre (DCC) yesterday as a followup to his prior visit to the Kajang DCC on Feb 10.

He also visited the Mantin police station in Negri Sembilan.During his visits, he also extended words of advice, encouragement and improvements to the policemen on duty.

Shahrul Effandi in the comment section of the police's official Facebook page lauded the move, saying that it is a leadership shown through example.

"As a civilian, I have already watched (the video of the IGP's visit) three times. Razarudin is the father-figure to the police contingent.

"Well done Tan Sri, he guides his subordinates with great respect, I also hope he visits the police stations at the country's farthest corners so they too are encouraged to perform their duties," he wrote.

Azman Nordin, another social media user, said that Razarudin's actions are what team leaders are supposed to do.

"They have to get up close and personal with the men who are performing their duties."They have to know their grouses and provide necessary support. You've done a great job Tan Sri."

Meanwhile, Irwan Nasrudin said the visit by the top cop to police headquarters and stations serve as a wake up call for the policemen.

"It should be done more, it boosts the morale of the policemen so that they are always in the zone, all the time.

Social media user Sobarudin L. Isa also added that he hopes that such visits will be frequent as it helps with the welfare of the policemen as well improving the image of the force.
