Explosion heard before Kapar plane crash

KLANG: Residents in Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar said they heard an explosion powerful enough to shake their houses before they realised that an aircraft had crashed nearby.

Bibik Ijah, 47, initially thought her son, who was driving, had collided with something in front of the house.

She and her brother in the workshop then found aircraft debris in the oil palm plantation.

"At that time, we couldn't see any people, only aircraft debris. We searched for any victims who could have been flung out of the aircraft, but couldn't find any.

"It's possible they are inside the aircraft buried in the ground," she said at the scene.

Her brother, Asri Salleh, 49, said that during the incident, he was resting in the workshop while the call for Zohor prayer was heard.

"Suddenly, there was a loud explosion, and a significant tremor in the workshop. We hurried to the oil palm plantation, but only saw aircraft debris," he said.

He added the aircraft was not on fire and had crashed into the clay soil.
