Post-mortem on Kapar plane crash victims confirms death due to multiple injuries

KLANG: The post-mortem examination on the two victims of the BK 160 Gabriel light aircraft that crashed near Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar, yesterday, confirmed that they had died due to the multiple injuries they sustained.

Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner S. Vijaya Rao said the examination was carried out at the Forensic Department of Hospital Tunku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) here.

"The results of the post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death (of the two victims) was due to multiple injuries due to a plane crash," he said at a press conference in HTAR, today.

Vijaya Rao said the post-mortem was completed about 12.15pm and the victims' next of kin could retrieve their remains as early as today.

"We will try our best to assist the families ... to retrieve the bodies as soon as possible."

When asked about the cause of the crash, Vijaya Rao said the Transport Ministry's Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) was still investigating the matter.

He said the fingerprint identification earlier this morning had confirmed identities of victims: pilot Daniel Yee Hsiang Khoon, 30 and co-pilot Roshaan Singh Rania, 42.

Earlier, next of kin arrived at the hospital to identify the victims, a process that included submittig samples of their DNA.

Police yesterday confirmed the death of two people on board the light aircraft near Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar.
