Raghad denies online story and photo showing Taib in critical condition

KUALA LUMPUR: Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib has taken to social media once more today to confirm that her husband, former Yang Dipertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, is not the person depicted in a recent online narrative and photo where he is alleged to be in critical condition.

In a post on her Instagram account today, Raghad revealed that she received messages about an online story that her husband was very ill and she took to Instagram to refute the story and accompanying photo.

"I've recently received messages about an online story of a hospital visit, featuring a photo claiming to be of my husband, Tun Taib, in critical condition.

"I want to assure everyone that this photo is not of him, but of someone else.

"News outlets have confirmed that the image is indeed someone else entirely," she wrote in her post.

Raghad added that she respectfully requests that all blogs and media portals remove the story to protect both the individual in the photo as well as her husband's privacy.

"Tun Taib is still recuperating and we are receiving the proper treatment at the hospital where he is currently residing in KL.

"Please keep us in your prayers," she wrote.

Just recently on Sunday, Raghad posted on her Instagram account that she had lodged a police report over claims that she purportedly "kidnapped" Taib from hospital, and that she was considering taking legal action.
