PM: Deputy ministers must have mastery of Madani policies

KUALA LUMPUR: All deputy ministers must master the framework of thought and policies under the Madani concept, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said members of the administration must move beyond the framework of past approaches as these had only focused on the affairs of a person's respective ministry.

"Instead, all ministry machinery and agencies need to support each other by helping to explain to the people about any issue which crops up, and to work as team within a true spirit of unity," he said on Facebook after attending a retreat with deputy ministers at the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) here today.

The prime minister said he had joined the deputy ministers and engaged in a dialogue with them after he attending the Conference of Rulers' Meeting.

In the session, Anwar welcomed several views and suggestions expressed by several deputy ministers who were enthusiastic about ensuring the wellbeing of the people and prosperity of the country.

"I have high hopes that these series of retreats involving the government's top leadership will effect changes in the Madani government's work, which is part of our efforts to elevate our country to a higher level," he said.
