KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today recorded his appreciation to his Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet and his government for their assistance in helping Malaysians who fell victims to job-scam syndicate in Cambodia.

"We have expressed our gratitude to you, Prime Minister (Hun Manet), and the Cambodian government for helping us in resolving issues surrounding Malaysians, who fell victims to job scams.

"You are (were) very forthcoming and very fast...

"And I want to thank both the police and the immigration (department) for their attention and support."

He was speaking during a joint press conference with Hun Manet in conjunction with the latter's maiden visit to Malaysia, at the Perdana Putra building in Putrajaya near here today.

"The country would like to reaffirm our commitment in the cooperation and sustaining collaborations including exchange in information and tackle regional challenges posed by online scams," said Hun Manet.

He was received by Anwar at Perdana Putra, which houses the Prime Minister's Office, at about 10.15am.
