ALOR STAR: Four houses near Tanjung Bendahara here were destroyed after a fire broke out today.
During the midday incident, a man and two women sustained minor injuries but managed to escape the blaze.
Jalan Raja Fire and Rescue Department chief Wan Azizul Hakim Wan Jaafar said units from Jalan Raja, Alor Star and Pendang stations were despatched after receiving distress calls.
"Upon arrival, we found four houses ablaze, with damage ranging from 95 per cent to 80 per cent.
"The fire was successfully contained by 12.28pm," he said in a statement today.
He said that the three victims received initial treatment from the Emergency Medical Response Service unit.
"Efforts to completely extinguish the fire are underway," he added.
