Badrul Hisham appointed new NRD DG effective today

KUALA LUMPUR: Home Ministry (KDN) Registration and Organisation Division secretary Badrul Hisham Alias was appointed as the new director-general of the National Registration Department (NRD) effective today (Feb 28).

NRD in a statement announced the appointment to replace Zamri Misman who was transferred to the Legal Affairs Division (BHEUU) in the Prime Minister's Department on Feb 2.

Badrul Hisham, 52, has served in the public service for 27 years when he was first appointed as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) in 1997.

He had also served in the NRD as the Finance and Development Division director and Identification Card Division director from 2015 to 2022, before he went to the Home Ministry as the Registration and Organisation Division secretary on July 18, 2022.

Apart from that, the NRD also announced the appointment of Sarinah Apisah as NRD deputy director-general (Operations), on Feb 26 (Monday) to replace Saiful Yazan Alwi who has been re-assigned to the Malaysia Chechpoints and Border Agency (MCBA), under the Home Ministry.

"The NRD expresses its appreciation and gratitude to Zamri and Saiful Yazan for all their contributions and service to the NRD," read the statement. — Bernama
