We'll debate after Ramadan, Rafizi tells 'entitled' Lim Sian See

KUALA LUMPUR: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has hit out at blogger Lim Sian See for hounding him over a date for their debate on the economy.

"Lim Sian See is a bit entitled. He is the most important person in the world because he used to be an important person in Najib's camp," he said, alluding to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"It's not important (to Lim) that I had spinal surgery two weeks ago, I must entertain him because he is the most important person in the world," Rafizi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Rafizi was responding to Lim's remarks that he had yet to be contacted by Rafizi's office to set a date for the debate.

The Pandan MP said today he had a lot of work to catch up on and next week marked the start of Ramadan.

"At night (during Ramadan) Muslims pray, they do not host a podcast featuring Lim Sian See. Wait until after Ramadan and once more pressing matters are resolved."

Previously, Rafizi said he had no qualms debating his critics including Lim, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi and former Umno member Isham Jalil on his "Yang Bakar Menteri" podcast.

He said despite being strong supporters of Najib, the trio have become staunch supporters of the opposition, following continuous attacks towards him.
