Decomposed body found in Teluk Intan stream

TELUK INTAN: An unidentified and decomposed body was found in a stream in Batu 3½ Jalan Maharajalela, yesterday.

Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri police received a report on the discovery from the public through an emergency call at 12.05pm.

"Initial police investigations revealed that the body was discovered lying across a wooden plank spanning the stream, devoid of clothing, and lacking any form of identification at the scene," he said.

"The condition of the deceased's condition was bad, with numerous parts of the body consumed by monitor lizards, and the facial features were no longer recognisable.

"The body was taken to the Forensic Department of Teluk Intan Hospital and the autopsy conducted yesterday morning found that the cause of death was unascertained," he said when contacted today.

He urged the public who have lost family members to immediately provide information to a nearby police station.

"The public can also contact the Operations Room of the District Police Headquarters (IPD) Hilir Perak at 05-6233969 to assist in the investigation.

"So far, the case is classified as sudden death (SDR)," he said.
