Ex-LTAT chairman ready to face PAC

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) chairman General (rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affendi Raja Mohamed Noor says he is ready to face the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) over the Auditor-General's Report findings.

"I will give my full cooperation and explain (about LTAT's financial position) if that is what the PAC needs," he said when contacted by Berita Harian.

"He said PAC has to carry out its duties, and LTAT's management will have to provide its explanations."

Raja Mohamed Affandi is among the three former top LTAT officials summoned by the PAC on the Auditor-General's Report findings.

The others are former chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Nazim Abd Rahman and former senior director of strategy Dayana Rogayah Omar

Yesterday, PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the committee was "deeply concerned" about LTAT's financial position following revelations that LTAT's reserves are in the negative.

She said the Defence Minister may also be summoned as the minister responsible for LTAT.

The 2022 Auditor General's report published on Wednesday revealed that the LTAT had been recording a negative balance in its reserve since 2020.

The report also pointed out that there were 41 old share portfolios with an unrealised loss of RM0.662 billion.

LTAT has been hit with the departures of senior executives since Jan 31, when Ahmad Nazim resigned as CEO.

This was followed by Raja Mohamed Affandi (Feb 8) and Dayana Rogayah (Feb 19).
