Bukit Saban prioritises access and quality education from primary level

BUKIT SABAN: Efforts are being made in Bukit Saban to ensure students at the primary level have access to necessary facilities and quality education, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

This initiative, spearheaded by Sarawak Deputy Premier and Bukit Saban Assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, in collaboration with Betong member of parliament Richard Rapu, marks a push towards enhancing educational outcomes in the region.

During the 'Back To School' programme at the Bukit Saban Service Centre, Uggah Embas highlighted the critical role of education in preparing children for future challenges.

"Our commitment is unwavering when it comes to supporting educational endeavours in this constituency," he said, emphasising the joint effort with Rapu to bolster educational assistance at the school level.

Douglas Uggah expressed concern over reports that some students complete primary education without fully mastering basic skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. He advocated for engaging in discussions with teachers to address and resolve these educational gaps effectively.

As part of the efforts to alleviate the burden on families and encourage academic success, Uggah Embas distributed school bags and stationery to 940 primary school students across the Bukit Saban area.
