Ipoh doctor lodges report on poison pen letter accusing him of sexual harassment

KUALA LUMPUR: A government hospital doctor has lodged a police report on a poison pen letter accusing him of sexual harassment.

According to Bernama, the doctor, 43, from Ipoh's Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun lodged the report last night.

This comes after the Perak Health Department said it was probing allegations of sexual harassment against a doctor at the hospital.

The investigation was launched after the department received a poison pen letter in the main on Feb 28.

Today, Ipoh police chief Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan said the poison pen letter alleged the doctor and several other staff acted inappropriately towards several housemen at the hospital's orthopedic department.

The case is being investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.

"Members of the public with information on the case are advised to contact the investigating officer ASP Fadli Ahmad at 019-2500019."

Yahaya urged the public against making defamatory statements that can affect a person's credibility.
