MACC nabs three men, including senior enforcement officer over false claims worth RM1 million

ALOR STAR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) have nabbed three men, including a senior enforcement officer, on suspicion of submitting false claims for maintenance work on a law enforcement agency's vessel worth over RM1 million.

According to MACC sources, the three suspects in their 40s were detained around 8pm on Sunday when summoned to provide statements at the state MACC office.

"The first suspect, who is also the head of a service centre, along with the second suspect, a senior enforcement officer, are believed to have conspired with the third suspect, the owner of a company, to commit the act in 2020," it said.

The trio will be brought to the Alor Star Magistrate's Court today for remand application.

The case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
