KLIA aerotrain may resume operations by the end of the year

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) aerotrain may resume operations by the end of this year or March 2025 at the latest.

In a written parliamentary reply, Transport Minister, Anthony Loke said the timeframe takes into account the readiness of the contractors from a technical and infrastructure perspective.

He was responding to a query from Datuk Seri M Saravanan (BN-Tapah) who wanted to know the status of the aerotrain service at KLIA.

The 25-year-old aerotrain service has been suspended indefinitely since March 2023 after public criticism due to constant breakdowns.

A shuttle service has been put in place as a temporary measure but this has led to complaints from travelers, especially senior citizens and parents of young children who need to walk further to take the bus.
