PM extends condolences to families of Malaysian students in New Zealand tragedy

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has extended his condolences to the families of two Malaysian students who tragically lost their lives in a road accident near Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, earlier today

"Condolences to the families of the two Malaysian students who lost their lives in a road accident in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand," Anwar wrote on his Facebook today.

Anwar also offered prayers for the swift recovery of three other Malaysian students who were injured in the incident.

"The Malaysian government, through the High Commission in New Zealand, will provide appropriate assistance to the victims and their families," he added.

The New Straits Times earlier reported two Malaysian students lost their lives in a traffic accident in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, while three other Malaysian students involved in the same accident were airlifted to Christchurch Hospital on the South Island for medical treatment.
