Akmal on second KK Mart shop attack: Punish perpetrators but continue boycott

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh says that an investigation should be conducted first before blaming any party following the second incident of a petrol bomb attack at a KK Super Mart shop in Kuantan.

He is calling for an immediate investigation to be carried out and for the perpetrators to be punished severely regardless of their affiliations.

"We strongly condemn any act of violence from the very first day. We request that an investigation be promptly conducted, and the perpetrators be severely punished regardless of their affiliation," he said in a Facebook post today.

Yesterday, Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that those advocating for the boycott of KK Super Mart shops need to take responsibility for easing and stopping the continuous act of inciting public sentiments

Saifuddin said this following the second incident of a petrol bomb thrown at a KK Super Mart shop in Sungai Isap, Kuantan, at 5am yesterday.

He said that it has caused anxiety among local residents and the entire populace as Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches.

Commenting further, Akmal added that he remains calm while still calling for the boycott of all KK Super Mart shops to continue.

"We remain calm and will continue with the boycott," he said.
