Thieves ransack Kemas kindy, steal powdered milk, bread and cereals

KLUANG: A Kemas kindergarten in Kampung Sahari, Simpang Renggam, fell victim to theft over the weekend, with powdered milk, cereals, and malted drinks among the pilfered items.

A teacher lodged a police report yesterday at 7am when she realised the preschool was ransacked, after thieves tampered with the back door grill.

Among the items stolen were a television, a stand fan, three packets of 5kg rice, a packet of 5kg cooking oil, a cooking gas cylinder, biscuits and a loaf of bread, among others.

Kluang police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the kindergarten was closed since Thursday (March 28) during the public holiday and weekend.

"The burglars forced open the grill, and made their way in before ransacking the preschool.

"They stole about RM1,000 worth of goods, and is believed to have taken their time, as the kindergarten was not installed with close circuit television sets," he said.

Investigations under Section 457 of the Penal Code for theft are underway.
