Pahang govt offers medical coverage for state civil servants and pensioners

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the state executive council (exco), in its weekly meeting on April 3, had agreed to shoulder some of the medical costs of all Pahang civil servants and pensioners at Sasmec@IIUM.

"The local authorities and statutory bodies in Pahang will support 30 per cent of the total medical treatment cost for its staff and pay the expenses for special medicine bills, non-formulary drugs and implants," he said in a statement today.

Wan Rosdy described the latest initiative by the state government as a move to safeguard the welfare of state civil servants and retirees.

"The initiative will reduce congestion in government hospitals and clinics. I hope civil servants and pensioners in Pahang will utilise the medical facilities in Sasmec@IIUM," he said.
