Haze: Unhealthy API levels in Cheras, Banting, Klang

KUALA LUMPUR: Klang, Banting and Cheras continued to record unhealthy air levels, with no significant improvement since yesterday.

As of 9am today, the Air Pollutant Index Management System website recorded unhealthy air readings of 153, 159 and 155 for Klang, Banting and Cheras, respectively.

The chart showed that in Klang, the unhealthy air level has been on the rise from a reading of 142 at 10am yesterday to 153 so far today.

In Banting, the reading was 163 at 10am yesterday but dropped slightly to 159 as of now.

Over in Cheras, the reading was 101 at 7pm yesterday and gradually increased to 155 at 9am today.

The website stated that 45 areas recorded moderate air quality level, which is a reading of between 51 and 100, while 20 areas were "good" where readings are from 0 to 50.

Readings of between 201 and 300 are very unhealthy while 300 and above are hazardous.
