KLIA shooting: Bodyguard in critical condition

KUALA LUMPUR: A personal bodyguard who was shot at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) early this morning is reported to be in critical condition.

The woman who he is assigned to protect, Farah Md Isa or Farah Cie, said this through a social media posting.

"My personal bodyguard is in critical condition at the hospital, please pray for him," she said.

She also said that someone had fired shots that hit her personal bodyguard, and a police report has been lodged.

"An official statement will be issued later," she added in her post.

Earlier, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the incident occurred at the KLIA Terminal 1 arrival hall, with the suspect already identified and currently being pursued.

He denied any extremist elements, links to terrorism or other public disturbances. Instead, the incident was said to be motivated by personal reasons, specifically a dispute between husband and wife.
