Thunderstorms warning across multiple states

KUALA LUMPUR: Residents in various states across Malaysia are advised to exercise caution as thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds are forecasted to impact several areas.

The advisory, released at 3pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, remains in effect until 6pm the same day.

The affected states include:

Perak: Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, and Kinta.

Terengganu: Hulu Terengganu and Dungun.

Pahang: Cameron Highlands, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin.

Negeri Sembilan: Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin.

Johor: Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, and Kota Tinggi.

Sarawak: Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.

Sabah: Interior and West Coast.

Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. These include staying indoors, avoiding travel unless absolutely necessary, and securing loose objects outdoors to prevent damage from strong winds.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and providing updates as necessary.
