Sarawak state library to host 10-minute reading event as part of nationwide initiative

KUCHING: On April 23, Sarawak will join the nationwide initiative 'Jom Baca Bersama untuk 10 Minit' aimed at fostering unity through the habit of reading, the Sarawak State Library in Miri announced on its Facebook page.

This year's theme, 'Reading Preserves Unity,' highlights reading as a key to harmonious community development.

The 10-minute reading event is scheduled to occur simultaneously across the nation from 11am to 11.10am.

Sarawakians are encouraged to participate from wherever they are, with the official ceremony taking place at the BDA Public Library in Bintulu.

"Instilling a reading culture is crucial for developing knowledgeable societies and propelling the progress of our nation," said the library in its post.

The event is designed not only to encourage reading but also to gather community members in a shared, enriching experience.

Participants are invited to read any material of their choice during these ten minutes and are encouraged to register their participation through this link.

Other interactive activities tailored for attendees are also scheduled to take place at the library, enhancing the communal spirit of the event.
