GET ready for a melodious and meaningful September as the Friends of Sea Turtles Education & Research (FOSTER) gears up to host the much-anticipated Third Edition of the Sepilok Jazz Programme on Sept 6 and 7 in Sandakan. This year's event is set to resonate with more than just music as it introduces the first jazz academy in Sandakan, promising a fusion of entertainment, education, and environmental conservation.
This year's edition is extra special with the launch of Sandakan's first jazz academy, offering a unique platform for the local youth to dive into the world of jazz.
"We're excited to unveil a new chapter in our musical journey, nurturing young talents and providing them a stage to shine," said FOSTER President Alexander Yee in a previous interview with Jesselton Times.
At the heart of the Sepilok Jazz Programme is a deep-seated commitment to the environment. The event harmonises the upbeat tunes of jazz with the noble cause of sea turtle conservation. "Through the universal language of music, we aim to foster a love and respect for nature, particularly our endangered sea turtles," Yee said.
