Mat Sabu directs immediate probe by Temerloh Rice and Rice Supervision Office

KUALA LUMPUR: The Temerloh Rice and Rice Supervision Office (KPB) has been instructed to conduct an investigation into the discovery of a heap of rice sacks dumped in a garbage disposal area near Kuala Krau, Pahang.

Agriculture and Food Security Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said an official statement would be issued promptly after the investigation is conducted.

"I have directed an immediate investigation by the Temerloh Rice and Rice Supervision Office regarding the incident of a heap of rice believed to have been dumped in a garbage disposal area in Kuala Krau, Pahang.

"An official statement will be issued promptly," he said while sharing the viral image of the dumped rice heap through social media since yesterday evening.

Yesterday, images of heaps of rice sacks, sardine tins, and flour dumped in the garbage disposal area near the Rumpun Makmur - Kampung Gunung Senyum shortcut route, Kuala Krau, have gone viral on social media.

It is understood that the images began to spread after being uploaded by several social media users on Facebook and TikTok who happened to pass through the mentioned road.
