20 Kota Baru secondary school students rushed to clinic for suspected food poisoning

KOTA BARU: Some 20 female students from a secondary school here were rushed to a nearby clinic today for suspected food poisoning.

A relative to one of the victims, who declined to be named said the students, aged between 13 and 17, had consumed rice with curry and fried chicken.

"These students attended a course at the school and were provided with packed meals. After eating rice with curry and fried chicken on Saturday, they were suspected of suffering from food poisoning.

"My relative informed me that she experienced food poisoning since yesterday, but it was still under control.

However, today it worsened, and she had to seek treatment as an outpatient at a clinic," he said when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Kelantan Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said they were still investigating the case.

"Yes (food poisoning case). This case is still under investigation," he said.
