Australia eyes new trade opportunities with Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Australia is keen to strengthen its long-standing ties with Sabah by exploring new trade opportunities, Sabah First Info reported.

Deputy High Commissioner of Australia to Malaysia Simon Fellows emphasised the solid historical relationship between Sabah and Australia, stating that the Australian government is focusing on reinforcing business ties in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, and specifically Sabah.

During a meeting with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Fellows expressed admiration for Sabah's world-class tourism attractions and announced his attendance at the annual Anzac Day event in Sandakan on Thursday.

Responding, the Chief Minister welcomed investors, inviting Australian business to delve into Sabah's special development areas, especially the state's Blue Economy potential.
