Pregnant cow found mauled by tiger

PENDANG: A pregnant cow was found dead in Kampung Bukit Lanjut here last night, believed to have been mauled by a tiger.

District Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Yuslina Yusof said a team was dispatched to the location after receiving information about the incident at 12.21am.

"Upon arrival, the pregnant cow was found dead with bloodstains on its body and face.

"According to the informant, before the incident, he heard the cow's cries behind his house.

"However, after hearing the roar of a tiger twice, he immediately went back into the house and contacted the APM to report the incident," she said when contacted today.

Yuslina said her team then conducted surveillance operations at the scene before it was confirmed that the tiger was no longer there.

She advised villagers in the affected area to be cautious and to immediately contact the authorities if they encounter the animal.
