One of 4 Bugatti Veyron supercars seized by German police belonged to Jho Low, reveals MACC

KUALA LUMPUR: One of the four Bugatti Veyron cars seized in Munich, Germany is owned by fugitive Low Taek Jho, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation revealed.

A Malay daily (Utusan Malaysia) reported that the other supercars, however, were believed to be linked to Khadem Al Qubaisi, who is the former head of Abu Dhabi's International Petroleum Investment Company.

Former Abu Dhabi firm Aabar Investments PJS former chief executive officer Mohamed Badawy Al-Husseiny, who was also believed to have been bribed by Low, also owned one of the supercars.

A source told the Malay daily that an investigation into the case was conducted between the end of 2020 and 2022.

MACC was reported to have sent their officers to Switzerland and Germany to gather information related to the issue.

"All three names are within the MACC's radar," the source said.

It was reported that the German police had seized four special edition Bugatti Veyron supercars believed to be linked to the 1MDB scandal.

German daily Bild said the cars were seized from a private storage facility in Munich.

These supercars are part of the exclusive "Legends" series of Bugatti Veyrons, with only 18 vehicles built across six specifications.
