Kada will cooperate with MACC in false claims probe

KOTA BARU: The Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority (Kada) will fully cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its false claims investigation.

Kada chairman Muhammad Husain said: "MACC's arrest of a Kada officer for allegedly making false claims since 2023 has been reported widely by the press today.

"The arrest was confirmed by the state MACC director, Rosli Husain, and I was informed that the officer has been brought to court for a remand order this morning.

"I have full confidence in MACC. I am confident the commission will carry out a transparent and detailed investigation."

Muhammad said Kada would work with MACC in line with the agency's mission to forge a "new face" and to improve the quality of its services, especially for farmers.

It was reported that a Kada officer, in his 40s, was arrested by MACC last night when he was summoned to the Kelantan MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded.

Sources said the false claims that were allegedly made last year and this year were related to various Kada programmes.

The officer has been remanded for six days from today.
