KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry (MoF) has advised the public to be on alert for scammers posing as ministry officials.
In a statement, the ministry said irresponsible parties were using official Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah hotlines to ask people for large amounts of money.
"Members of the public who receive such calls are advised to lodge a police report.
"MoF does not allow third parties to use the ministry's official hotlines and MoF officials are not allowed to collect money from the public for any reason."
