#NSTviral: School chair prank leaves girl with cerebral palsy bedridden

KUALA LUMPUR: A young girl with cerebral palsy has become bedridden after a school chair prank, which left her with severe injuries.

The video has reached 24,000 likes since it was posted four days ago on TikTok by the child's mother, user @azera5276.

In the video, the mother shared her struggles raising Iqa, emphasizing that it was Iqa who, despite her cerebral palsy, ultimately taught her the meaning of life, as she remained determined to nurture her daughter's independence and treat her no differently from her other children.

"All this while, I really struggled so much to raise Iqa. She has taught Mom the meaning of life, even though she has cerebral palsy.

"I taught Iqa to be independent and raised her like my other children. But this time, I'm heartbroken," said the mother.

Iqa's chair was pulled out from under her by a friend who played a prank on her, the mother said.

The approximately 20-second video reached 1.1 million views as it turns out many have encountered the same prank during their school days and are suffering the consequences till this day

User @Kak Long Aini commented on the video saying, "I've been suffering for 32 years because of cases like this. I have an L1-L5 slip disc and just had a steroid injection on Oct 5 but the pain is still there. I swear by Allah I won't forgive them."

Furthermore, user @Zamri bin Hasim said " A kid from my village is paralyzed on one side due to this silly chair prank."

Meanwhile user @fidah described how she felt sorry and shed some tears after watching the video.

She further explained how her child once had a fall as well which caused minor fractures at four places in the spine.

The mother urged everyone to take serious consideration to the gravity of school chair pranks, serving as a crucial reminder to children that such actions must be avoided within the school environment.

"Everyone needs to be reminded of the danger of such jokes. Now we are the ones going through this. Please pray for Iqa's quick recovery, amen."
