#NSTviral: Netizens look forward to hassle-free travel to China without need for visa

KUALA LUMPUR: The announcement of visa-free travel for Malaysians to China has been well-received by netizens.

Earlier today, the China Embassy in Malaysia announced that the 15-day visa-free policy will be in effect for a full year, commencing from Dec 1 this year until Nov 30, next year.

Netizens expressed their excitement on the new announcement about the visa-free travel based on the comment section of the New Straits Times' Facebook post.

They said this would avoid hassle for travellers in having to apply for the visa.

They have also bore hope that this initiative will boost two-way tourism between Malaysia and China while some others advise caution when travelling due to health concerns.

"Yeahhh, finally don't need to wait approval for one week being stuck in the embassy," says user Alex Tan.

"It was tiring to apply visa in the past. Entered Shenzen, and then back to Hong Kong (because I) went to Hong Kong without a visa, but to enter China requires it," says user Ibnu M Ghazali.

Meanwhile, others consider it as 'unfortunate' for them as the visa-free travel was announced right after they finished applying for it.

"Lol. (My) husband just paid RM700 to get his visa to China he planned to go in mid-December. Now suddenly there is no need for a visa," says user izdiyani.

"Got my visa already and now you want to announce it," user Syazli Tahir said.
