#NSTviral: Pupil's candid expression of love to teacher causes concern among netizens

KUALA LUMPUR: A pupil's expression of love towards a teacher who was being transfered to another school have caused concerned among netizens.

The pupil's response to the teacher's transfer was shared on the Ilham Media Facebook page.

In a WhatsApp message, the teacher expressed gratitude and explained, "I will be going to another school, closer to my hometown. The move will happen during the upcoming school holiday."

However, the news took an unexpected turn when one pupil responded emotionally.

"Please don't leave. I have no desire to come to school if you are not around. I like you, I don't want other teachers to teach the class," pleaded the pupil, confessing to having a crush on the teacher.

"Sir, I am crying now. I hope you will accept my love. Sir, I don't want to go to school next week if you are not around," the message continued.

The post has stirred various reactions from the online community, including concerns from parents.

One commenter, Noor Amma, said," This is the reason I don't share the teachers' telephone numbers with the children. Any problems must go through the mother, let the mother settle them."

Cik Neez posted,"The sense of respect for teachers now have gone."

Mohd Amin Fauzi, meanwhile, urge parents to inculcate their children with manners, morality and religious knowledge.

Bavindh PV commented, "Nowadays, even teachers are acting like students, going the extra mile. If teachers behave like teachers, do you think they'd dare? In the era of TikTok, even teachers are striking a pose."

Another commenter, Nurul Aqmar, pointed out: "During our time, we'd have crushes on teachers too, but it was just for fun, no texting or calling (back then, no WhatsApp) saying they're falling in love, these kids nowadays are too much..."
