#NSTviral: Hannah Yeoh recalls reprimanding Joe Flizzow for his baggy pants in the 1990s

KUALA LUMPUR: "His school attire isn't like the usual school uniform. He wears baggy pants and his shirt is usually untucked. As the head prefect, I always remind him to fix his attire."

This was shared by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh, about the popular rap artist, Joe Flizzow, when they were schooling together at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Subang Utama (SMK) in Selangor.

Through a viral clip on TikTok, Hannah shared her experience in successfully producing a special documentary titled "This Is Johan," which is currently streaming on the Viu platform.

In the recording, Hannah, who was also the head prefect at the school from 1995 to 1996, described Joe's character in the school.

Hannah said Joe had an extraordinary fashion sense and often received reprimands from her as the head prefect.

In the same video, Joe responded to the statement by the Segambut Member of Parliament by saying that mischievous behavior isn't wrong, as long as it doesn't involve doing anything evil.

"Mischief is better than being bad. It's okay to be mischievous. It's okay to be stubborn, just don't be bad," he said.

The documentary "This Is Johan" tells the story of Joe's challenges, success, downfall, and spirit that continues to inspire local fans and followers of hip hop and rap to this day.
