ALOR STAR: Pas delegates warned PKR today that if they do not stop criticising the Islamic party and its leaders, Pas will withdraw its support and machinery assistance.
When debating the Youth Chief's keynote address, Pas Youth Selangor delegate Mohamed Sukri Omar reminded PKR’s Pandan Member of Parliament, Rafizi Ramli, that it was Pas’ machinery which helped him win his seat in the last election.
Upset over criticisms made against Pas leaders, Sukri called on Rafizi to run against Pas Youth in Pandan in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).
“I want to remind Rafizi, we are not afraid over what he has to say, even if he continues to attack us. If he’s a man, then contest at Pandan in the next GE and face the youth.
“Same goes to Selangor MB (Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali). He can call us ‘lebai’ all he wants, but without our support, this will be his last term as Selangor MB,” Sukri said during Pas’ 63rd Muktamar, held at Kompleks Pas Kedah here, today.
On April 13, Rafizi claimed that former Pas deputy president, Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa, allegedly received funds from SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) subsidiary.
Sukri said if Rafizi's claims are true, and that there were indeed Pas leaders who took the money, he warned that the Youth will kick them out.
"Corrupt leaders have no place in our party and to fight in the name of Islam.
"However, we can see that our leaders live moderately. We can see that even the air-conditioning buttons in their cars are faulty.
"So, how is it possible that our leaders took money from Umno?" he added.
Azmin, meanwhile, recently referred to Pas in a tweet as "Tok Lebai", a local colloquialism that refers to an old man who wears a Muslim skullcap.
His tweet was in response to claims by Pas President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, that Pas will take over Selangor in the next general election.
"The Selangor Youth unanimously suggest the severing of ties with PKR.
“We know that there are PKR leaders who are sincere and want change in this country. If they want, they can join us and fight together," Sukri added.
