ALOR STAR: Pas leaders and members have been urged to practice mature politics, especially when it comes to postings on social media as that would determine the public's view of the party.
Pas deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said, since there are still 3.8 million unregistered voters in the country, Pas should start to find ways to attract them.
Out of the figure, Tuan Ibrahim said there were 1.8 million Malay voters who have yet to register.
"Don't be too harsh in our writings especially on social media. We must follow the Islamic principle which is to attract people via good words.
"Another thing, leaders should try to win the people's hearts, don't create a barrier between them," he said in his winding up speech at the Pas 63rd Muktamar held at Kompleks Pas Kedah here today.
Last week Tuan Ibrahim told party delegates that Pas will move towards mature politics in winning the people's hearts, instead of character assassination.
He said this was due to the endless spat among political parties in the country, which had led to the public feeling uncertain on who they should choose ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14).
Thus, he said, Pas should show that the Islamic party is an alternative for the people.
"We bring justice to all, whether they are Muslims or not. Pas guarantee that we will manage the country in harmony and fairly," he added.
