More breakups expected within Opposition coalition, says Ku Nan

PUTRAJAYA: Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor believes there will be more splits soon within the opposition coalition.

He said the development, following the breakup of the political cooperation between Pas and PKR, is expected as the coalition is falling apart.

“We actually knew they were going to split. This is due to the nature of the politicians who formed these parties, because of their ego at not being able to achieve what they wanted in their former parties.”

Pas Syura Council earlier this week had announced that it was severing its “tahaluf siyasi” (political cooperation) with PKR.

When asked if Barisan Nasional (BN) was prepared for the 14th General Election, Tengku Adnan, who is also the BN secretary-general, said the party is working very hard to gear up and reach out to the people.

“Of course, I can't share our strategies but I can assure we are working very hard,” he said when met at the Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Negaraku Community Programme at Presint 9 today.
