BEAUFORT: Beaufort folks converged at the Dataran Bagandang here to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has begun his official visit to the state.
Arriving at the Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat (PBR) programme, Zahid was warmly greeted by local residents, with whom he shook hands as he made his way to the main stage.
He was accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
Also present were Beaufort member of Parliament Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun and Beaufort Umno division chief Datuk Isnin Aliasnih.
Earlier, Zahid attended a special meeting with Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) component leaders of Beaufort.
He is later slated to join a Zohor prayer congregation at the nearby Kampung Bingkul Mosque.
Zahid is then scheduled to present aid to all mosques in the Beaufort Parliamentary constituency, the Bingkul Tahfiz Centre, and the Al-Aman Orphans Home.
