Ku Nan: Continue supporting and backing Umno

KUALA KANGSAR: Umno hopes that the people will continue to support and back the party which has been in existence for the past seven decades.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the Barisan Nasional backbone’s presence since 1946 was unlike some opposition parties which had been formed recently, out of hatred and jealousy.

"What we can see is that the opposition has no concrete structure and also muddled, unlike our party.

“Can the people put their trust in this new alliance (Pakatan Harapan) and their new line-up?" he said in his speech when opening Kuala Kangsar Umno division delegates meeting at Dewan Jubli here today.

Also present was Kuala Kangsar Umno division acting chief Mohamad Kamil Shafie and Kuala Kangsar member of parliament Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid.

Tengku Adnan who is also the Federal Territories Minister also reminded division chiefs to be in touch of the going on’s at the grass roots as well as looking into the people’s problems and providing solutions.

"We must have the passion, when we are involved in the political arena. Without passion, the party can't go far. We must go down to the ground and meet the people. We ask them what they want instead of what we want.

"We want to give the best for the people. In order to do this, we must stay together, be loyal to the party as well as our leaders.

“The people now are smart enough to judge, they know and they see what we do," he said.
