Mukhriz is 'a mere empty tin can', says Umno deputy youth chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir’s words has now backfired on him and showing that he is only a mere empty tin can, said Umno deputy youth chief Khairul Azwan Harun.

He said while the general overview by people showed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s visit to the United States as a strategic milestone and an economic achievement, Mukhriz had made cheap allegations saying that the visit had only brought losses to the country.

“Through the investment, Mukhriz alleged that Malaysia has only suffered greater loss. But he failed to understand that Malaysia has a positive trade balance compared to the US.

“The US has invested more in Malaysia, compared to Malaysia’s investment there. Unfortunately, Mukhriz has failed to understand this simple economic concept,” said Khairul Azwan in a statement yesterday.

He said it was disgusting to see Mukhriz choose to cover the truth and politicise the visit. His vindictive attitude is against democratic practices which are only based on facts and truth.

“This has shown his immaturity and it has backfired him. He is now just an empty tin can,” said Khairul.

Najib who was in US under the invitation of President Donald Trump, announced that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Khazanah Nasional Bhd, planned to expand their investments in the US and would purchase more Boeing jets to help strengthen the country’s economy.

Since the announcement, Mukhriz in a series of tweets had thrown shades at Najib saying that Malaysians would suffer for the investments through Goods and Service Tax (GST) and budget cuts.
