PPBM founding member Anina quits

BANGI: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) founding member Anina Saadudin today announced her resignation from the party with immediate effect.

She said the direction of the party has drifted from its objectives and principles.

Cronyism, she claimed, has become the main cause why some party members left the party.

"People may ask why I choose to leave the party now. This is because I have waited patiently for the party's official letter or a meet up or even a phone call.

"However, none of that happened. Two weeks ago, unexpectedly, they (PPBM) removed me from the party's WhatsApp group, and I was not given any invitation to PPBM's 1st anniversary."

She claimed that she was not properly informed about being fired as PPBM women’s wing chief in December and as supreme council member later.

"Last year, I asked PPBM deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir the reason for my removal... he said that I had tarnished the party's image.

"I demanded for proof and he said the party had yet to establish any evidence," she told reporters at her home here.

Anina said she was also disappointment with party secretary-general Datuk Shahruddin Md Salleh who failed to inform her of her dismissal.

She said when the party was first formed, it was her and other party founding members who had worked hard to strengthen PPBM.

"But, the way I see it, the struggle for truth and the people has been sidelined," she said, adding that all of her time and effort had been wasted.

Asked about her next move, Anina said she was currently waiting for approval from the Registrar of Societies to form a non-governmental organisation.

She said once the NGO was approved, she would challenge PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Mukhriz to a debate.
