Opposition squabbles an advantage for BN to recapture Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR: Disunity among opposition party leaders within Selangor government could be an advantage for Barisan Nasional to recapture the state in the 14th General election.

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said BN stands a good chance of wresting Selangor back as the opposition are not united in their decisions and opinions in Selangor especially.

He said the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is also PKR deputy president and defacto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim seem to be in good terms with Pas but not Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who leads Pakatan Harapan as its chairman.

"Azmin and Anwar seem to comfortable cooperatibg and having partnership with PAS but then Tun on the other hand is not favorable of it.

"With that, we also have Dap who welcomes Pas to be in the Selangor government although they have severed all political ties with the party," Liow said.

He said the parties in the coalition have personal agenda and have a hard time meeting eye to eye on many matters, matter involving the welfare of Selangor is no exemption.

"DAP says they have cut all ties with Pas but in real fact they did not. They are simply playing with the rakyats emotions and do not have any clear plan to bring about development, unlike BN," he said.

Liow said the BN is focused on what it can deliver for the people of Selangor and continuously struggle to give our best for the people’s welfare.

“ With so many issues and disagreements among them, how are they going to bring about positive changes to the state and the people.

"They are not the BN which have its own strength and track record on bringing development, forging unity and good cooperation," Liow added.
