Sabah Umno backs Najib, rejects Trump's move to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno is fully behind party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s in rejecting the United States’ move to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Umno Sabah Liaison committee chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman said the country has to continue to help and support Palestinians.

Earlier during his policy address at the Umno general assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Najib, who is also the Prime Minister, said it was a shocking proposal by United States to recognise Jerusalem, which is one of the three holy sites of Muslims, as Israel’s capital.

He added Umno will never compromise on the matter as it is insulting towards the sanctity of Islam and its teachings.

The Foreign Ministry has also issued a statement to the United States, asking the country to reconsider its decision which could put to an end to all efforts made towards resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
