KUALA LUMPUR: The loud resounding response from delegates to Datuk Seri Najib Razak question if they were ready fo the 14th General Election was a clear indication on how prepared Umno members were.
Umno Supreme Council mmber Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the party is ready for the polls and the delegates made it clear with how they responded to the party president who asked them while presenting his policy speech at the opening of the party’s 71st General Assembly.
Ismail said Umno had always monitor its grassroots to ensure they are ready to face the polls.
“The presidential speech was a big boost for members to work hard to ensure victory for the Barisan Nasional (BN) in election,” he said.
“The president has reminded us to be careful in every step that we take, because one wrong move can cause us to lose everything.”
He said it was crucial for Umno and BN to maintain its power in order to continue with the agenda of Malay and Islam, as well as to develop the nation.
