Kelantan Umno, MCA pin high hopes on positive outcome for BN Jan 3 meeting

KOTA BARU: Kelantan Umno hopes that the decision made in the meeting held by Barisan Nasional (BN) on Wednesday will make the party stronger in its preparation for the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its information chief Datuk Alwi Che Ahmad also hopes that the outcome of the meeting would ensure the stability of BN's component parties.

However, he added that party's members must be sincere and avoid vying for seats.

"To succeed, we must go for the winning mentality and members must avoid shooting themselves in the foot at the eleventh hour.

"Announcements or news like Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and Integrated Manasik Monitoring System (Imams) must be avoided," he said.

Meanwhile, Kelantan MCA deputy chairman Datuk Tan Ken Ten said the meeting was important for BN's future direction.

"This is like a signal for everybody to be prepared for the coming GE14. The decision made in the meeting will encourage members to be more productive.

"We hope that all the challenges and difficulties faced by BN including with its component parties can be solved under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak," he said.
