Gobind: Pakatan may announce PM candidate today

SHAH ALAM: The Pakatan Harapan opposition pact is expected to make an announcement concerning its prime minister candidate today, although it remains uncertain whether he or she would be named.

Pakatan legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo, in his speech at the convention, hinted at this when he touched on the opposition coalition's preparation for the 14th General Election, including in the event they win and form a federal government.

"We must also be concerned in the event that we win (the election).

"We must reach a consensus like when we decide seat allocations, and so with our candidate for PM when we win. That is the battle we have to solve before the election.

"I am confident that today there will be an announcement," he said.

PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail confirmed yesterday that the pact's prime minister candidate had yet to be picked.
