PAN faces losing all 27 Parliamentary seats in GE14: Pas Youth vice chief

KOTA BARU: Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) faces the risk of losing all 27 Parliamentary seats it has been allocated by Pakatan Harapan in the next general election (GE14), as announced at the opposition coalition’s convention in Shah Alam on Sunday.

Pas Youth vice chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said PAN was only allotted the seats because they had been ‘rejected’ by the rest of Pakatan, adding that he extends his condolences to the party.

"PAN might face a tough fight when contesting the 27 seats, and I believe that it is the reason Pakatan refused to contest them – instead, handing them to PAN," he told the New Straits Times.

On Pakatan’s decision to name its chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the prime minister and deputy prime minister candidates respectively, Fadhli said that it is ‘weird’.

"I cannot believe how they can still trust (Dr Mahathir) for what he has done to PKR’s de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and for his ‘U-turn’ attitude.

"He never changes, and does the same things again and again.

"He even breaks his promises, (so it is) not impossible that he will replace Wan Azizah with his son, Mukhriz," added Fadhli.
